Our team consists of 40 full-time staff and over 300 part-time and casual professionals, including subject teachers, teaching assistants, and academic advisors. If you have a strong educational background, excellent communication skills, and a desire to empower students to reach their full potential, this opportunity is for you Position: Science/Maths Tutors (Casual role with potential progression to full-time) Subjects Years 1-6 Maths Years 7-10 Maths Years 7-10 Science VCE Specialist Maths/Mathematical Methods/General Maths Maths competition preparation (e.g. AMC) Work Hours: After-school hours, weekends, or flexible schedules to suit your availability. What You’ll Do Conduct group or one-on-one tutoring sessions for primary or secondary students. Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Victorian curriculum. Create a supportive and positive learning environment to foster student confidence and academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of learning for students. Develop and adapt lesson plans and materials using tools such as PowerPoint, PDFs, and Zoom. Stay informed about curriculum updates and best teaching practices. Prepare students for assessments, exams, and competitions. Who You Are Demonstrated understanding of the Victorian curriculum (previous tutoring/teaching experience is a plus). Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit diverse learning styles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds. Organised, reliable, and passionate about education. Able to prepare and tailor lesson plans and worksheets using basic office applications such as PowerPoint slides, PDF and Zoom. Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, or be willing to obtain one upon successful appointment. Applicants with experience in AMC are preferred.
