Our Opportunity: Nepean Conveyors is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join their team located in Mackay, Qld. Your daily duties will include however are not limited to: Prepare mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, schedules, quantity and cost estimates for a wide range of new construction and maintenance improvement projects. Develop and analyse mechanical systems to ensure they meet safety and performance standards. Plan, schedule and coordinate detailed phases of mechanical engineering work either as part of a major project or for an entire project of smaller scope. Review mechanical submittals and works to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Review mechanical designs and submittal packages. Prepare engineering calculations and analysis in connection with mechanical design of utility systems and transportation facilities; oversee preparation of detailed drawings for these facilities. Inspect and oversee a wide variety of ordinary and complex construction projects to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications. Assist in preparation of complex contract documents. Prepare correspondences and prepare technical engineering reports in connection with the projects. Work with senior engineers, drafting technicians and contracts personnel on planning, developing and finalising technical and construction contract documents. To be considered for this opportunity, the right person will have: Min 5 years’ experience within a similar role. Appropriate qualification/training. Technical competence. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
