Project/Research Nurse – Nursing and Midwifery Australia, Tas – Medicine Full Time – Continuing. About the Office of the Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer (OCNMO): A small, high‑performing, outcomes‑focused team that supports the advancement of nursing and midwifery professions to enable the delivery of high‑quality healthcare to the Tasmanian community. The OCNMO provides strategic leadership and professional practice advice on a diverse range of issues relating to the nursing and midwifery professions, with priorities in strategic planning, policy, workforce, research, education and training locally, nationally and internationally. The Role Under the broad direction of the Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer (CNMO) the Project/Research Nurse will manage and coordinate nursing and midwifery projects that contribute to the strategic objectives of the Department of Health (DoH), undertake robust research activities that contribute to nursing and midwifery policy or projects, utilise a highly developed understanding of the nursing and midwifery professions and the healthcare sector to manage projects, and establish and maintain consultative links internally within the Departments, with community and industry representatives and other external stakeholders for the achievement of strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate nursing and midwifery projects that contribute to the strategic objectives of the Department of Health (DoH). Be responsible for undertaking robust research activities that contribute to nursing and midwifery policy or projects. Utilise a highly developed understanding of the nursing and midwifery professions and the healthcare sector to manage projects. Establish and maintain consultative links internally within the Departments; with community and industry representatives; and other external stakeholders for the achievement of strategic objectives. Essential Requirements A broad and demonstrated understanding of the current healthcare system and knowledge of national and international trends relating to the nursing and midwifery professions, workforce and service delivery. High level analytical, conceptual, strategic, research and creative skills and the ability to apply these within political, industrial and organisational environments. Proven ability to apply rigorous project management methodology in managing a broad range of projects to meet agreed time, cost and quality outcomes. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. Desirable Criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications. Current driver’s licence. Details of Appointment Permanent, full‑time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. (Hours subject to negotiation with the successful applicant). For a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies. Salary & Superannuation $118,297 to $125,543 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement (terms withheld). Allowances & Packaging Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Salary packaging, including living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 each FBT year, with other benefits if eligible.
