Your normal may not be my normal and normal today may not be normal tomorrow. About the role We're opening our first-ever Heaps Normal hospitality venue in Marrickville Sydney. With our doors opening in November 2025 the space will launch as a functions venue before evolving into a full-time bar and events space in 2026. As Venue Manager youll play a key role in bringing this new chapter of Heaps Normal to life. You'll oversee daily operations lead and support the front-of-house team and ensure the venue delivers exceptional experiences for every guest. Working closely with our Special Projects Producer youll help shape the culture systems and service that will define our venue. This is a 6-month fixed-term role (3 days per week) with the potential to evolve into a permanent position after review. The responsibilities Venue Operations & Service Lead day-to-day operations of the venue ensuring exceptional guest experiences Oversee service delivery across functions events and general operations Manage compliance with liquor licensing RSA and health & safety requirements Maintain high standards of cleanliness presentation and operational efficiency Contribute to the development of venue systems procedures and best practices People & Culture Recruit train and support a casual front-of-house team Foster a positive inclusive and supportive team culture Lead by example to ensure consistent high-quality service and team morale Support team development and create a great working environment Events & Client Relationships Oversee the planning and execution of functions and private events Build strong relationships with clients and partners to ensure smooth operations Collaborate with internal teams on event planning creative activations and brand experiences Financial & Operational Management Manage stock control ordering and par levels Track reporting budgets and labour costs to ensure efficiency and sustainability Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operations About you As the Venue Manager youll thrive in this role if youre An experienced hospitality professional with proven venue or pub management experience A confident leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledgeable in RSA liquor licensing and compliance requirements Flexible and available for evenings weekends and events as required Collaborative reliable and supportive.
