Job Overview InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, a multi‑million‑dollar transformation on the shores of sparkling Coogee Beach, will redefine coastal luxury when it debuts in late 2025. The reimagined 198‑room hotel will feature ocean‑facing infinity pools, luxury cabanas, a vibrant leisure deck and a Grand Ballroom, providing guests with exquisite coastal experiences. About The Role As a Waiter (Food & Beverage Attendant) you will welcome guests, recommend food and drinks, and ensure service standards are met. By tailoring each guest’s experience to their tastes, you’ll create memorable dining experiences. Your Day to Day Deliver outstanding hospitality at all times, greeting and seating guests promptly with courtesy and professionalism. Recognise IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests, using menu knowledge to provide recommendations. Maintain high knowledge of InterContinental brand standards and deliver service to match. Present food and drinks efficiently, adhering to timing standards. Maintain pride in uniform, grooming, and punctuality, arriving ready to work before each shift. Be familiar with the food menu, give guests a better experience and advise guests as and when appropriate. Keep dining areas, stations, bar, and back‑of‑house clean and well‑presented; ensure equipment and workspaces meet hygiene standards. Complete opening and closing duties as required. Support colleagues as needed, attend daily briefings and training sessions, and actively contribute to a positive team culture. What We Need From You Must have valid and unrestricted work rights in Australia as sponsorship is not available. Ability to be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending, kneeling and lifting up to 50lbs (23kg) when required. Good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths. Understanding that night, weekend and holiday shifts are part of the job. Fluent in the local language and above the minimum age required for food handling and serving alcohol. Great communicator: warm, welcoming and easy to talk to, genuinely enjoying interactions. NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification.
