About the Role Reporting to a Project Manager, the Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction and infrastructure projects. You’ll assist in preparing project documentation, managing costs and schedules, and ensuring project deliverables are achieved safely, on time, and within budget. This role offers exposure to diverse and technically challenging projects, with opportunities to develop your leadership, commercial, and technical expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment. What You Will Do Plan and deliver projects within approved timeframes and budgets, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout all phases. Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and quality assurance materials to support effective execution. Monitor financial performance, including cost tracking, forecasting, and identifying opportunities for improvement. Support contract administration and procurement, coordinating suppliers, subcontractors, and project resources. Drive HSEQ compliance, promoting McMahon Services’ safety, environmental, and quality standards across all activities. Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to maintain communication, track progress, and enhance performance outcomes. What You Will Bring A tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in engineering for construction or infrastructure projects. Proven ability to manage documentation, contracts, and scheduling for complex works. Strong understanding of Australian Standards and Health & Safety legislation. Proficiency in project management and ERP software (e.g., MS Project, Pronto, InEight, Aconex, Procore). Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills. Current White Card, driver’s licence, and ability to obtain Defence or DCSI clearance. What Will Set You Apart Experience with civil infrastructure or defence-related projects.
