Operations Manager Join to apply for the Operations Manager role at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI). Role Type: Part‑time ongoing role 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE) Salary: Competitive salary (pro rata) plus superannuation The Opportunity The Operations Manager oversees the day‑to‑day activities of the Innovation & Commercialisation team to ensure efficient, effective and compliant operations. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will optimise processes, strengthen governance frameworks and contribute to an environment that drives productivity and continuous improvement. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong critical thinking and excellent communication skills. You will confidently prepare reports, lead meetings, analyse data and manage projects—while also communicating the value and importance of governance to the team. As a trusted leader, you will support change management efforts and foster a culture of accountability, integrity and collaboration. If you enjoy variety in your work, are comfortable working at both strategic and operational levels, and have the confidence to present information and recommendations to directors and senior stakeholders, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Your Responsibilities Include Providing strategic, governance and reporting support, including preparing high‑quality presentations and Board papers. Overseeing engagement, training and event activities, including delivery of the Innovation engagement and training plans. Managing policy, process, systems and compliance frameworks, ensuring effective document control, supporting policy owners with development and implementation, and maintaining alignment with organisational policies. Coordinating stakeholder communications and engagement, and information management, including maintaining Innovation intranet content, managing the team inbox, and overseeing funding and awards opportunity registers. Supporting financial and business reporting, including budget planning and monthly reconciliations. Providing business development and commercialisation support as well as contributing to effective team operations. What We Need From You Demonstrated experience providing high-level strategic, governance and executive support, including preparing Board papers and managing committees. Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience maintaining registers, dashboards and structured information systems. Proven project and programme coordination skills, including process design, managing timelines, events, training and strategic briefs. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with experience managing digital content and team inboxes. Demonstrated financial literacy, including budget planning and reconciliation.
