About the Team The Strategic Data Science team provides leadership with data, tooling, and insights that amplify Airwallex’s growth. Based in the US, China, Singapore, and now Sydney, we tackle complex data problems that shape the future of fintech. Responsibilities Serve as the go‑to data partner for the Head of ANZ. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Data Engineering, and Product to align metric definitions, dimensions, and data sources. Leverage AI to generate insights and improve business and team efficiency. Support forecasting using advanced statistical methods. Scope and build data products, from MVPs to fully fleshed‑out solutions. Foster an environment grounded in technical excellence, clear communication, and proactive critical thinking. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of industry experience and a degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics). Excellent communication skills, with a proven record of influencing executive‑level stakeholders. Expertise in forecasting. Expertise in data querying languages (SQL) and scripting languages (Python, R). Experience with data architecture tools such as Airflow, Databricks, and dbt. Preferred Qualifications Experience in technology, financial services, or high‑growth environments. Experience with Excel and finance systems (e.g., Oracle).
