Position Type: Full Time – Temporary (1 year) Start Date: Thursday 1 January 2026 Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our team from Thursday, 1 January 2026. The successful candidate will teach Science across Years 7 to 12, the ability to teach ATAR Human Biology is essential. This role involves working collaboratively with colleagues and the Head of Learning Area to support students with diverse learning needs, promote inclusive education, and contribute to a positive and respectful learning environment. Responsibilities Supporting students in accessing curriculum content and classroom activities Assisting with the implementation of individualised education plans and learning strategies Encouraging student engagement, independence and confidence Contributing to pastoral care and co-curricular programs Collaborating with staff to support student wellbeing and holistic development Introduction to the College Only a 25-minute drive from the city and blessed with excellent transport links, Irene McCormack Catholic College offers a Christ-centered and student-focused Catholic education from Year 7 to Year 12. Professional Competencies Demonstrate a working knowledge of current curriculum developments as per the Western Australian Curriculum. Be able to teach Human Biology ATAR. To demonstrate practices reflective of the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers. Build pastoral and professional teacher-student relationships. Display a passion for teaching. Professional Responsibilities Implement school policies and regulations. Carry out teaching duties as negotiated with the Principal and Head of Learning Area. Personal Qualities Outstanding interpersonal qualities and skills. Personal commitment to tasks undertaken. Enthusiasm and energy. High standard of organisational and time management skills.
