Sleep Study Technician

The Sleep Technician plays a key role in delivering a high-quality and efficient Sleep Service to all patients. Working as part of a collaborative clinical team, you will ensure safe, accurate, and patient-focused sleep study assessments aligned with Queensland Sleep protocols. About the Role We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Sleep Technician to join our sleep laboratory on a casual basis. In this position, you will be responsible for admitting patients and preparing them for overnight sleep studies (polysomnography). Key Responsibilities Welcome and admit patients attending for overnight sleep studies Provide clear guidance, reassurance, and support to patients Apply and calibrate electrodes, sensors, and monitoring equipment in line with established sleep study protocols Perform equipment checks and troubleshoot minor technical issues to ensure accurate data collection. Document patient information and setup details with high attention to accuracy. Communicate effectively with overnight staff to ensure smooth handover and continuity of care. Maintain a safe, comfortable, and professional environment for all patients About You To thrive in this role, you will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. You will bring: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine ability to put patients at ease. Confidence with equipment setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting. A strong commitment to patient safety, comfort, and high-quality data collection. Recent or current experience working as a Sleep Technician (essential). Sound computer skills. A background in nursing or a health-related profession (desirable but not essential). Remuneration: Base Hourly Rates in accordance with Enterprise Agreement + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
