Step up into a senior leadership role with one of Lake Mac’s favourite pubs. We’re looking for a confident, hands‑on hospitality professional ready to take the next step in their career. Lake Macquarie Tavern is part of the Don Hodge Group – a family‑owned hospitality group with venues across Newcastle, Sydney and Forbes, including The Belmont Hotel and Warners at the Bay in the Lake Macquarie area. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Manager, Duty Manager or Operations‑focused Pub Manager who’s ready to step up into a full Venue Manager position. You’ll have the support of an Area Manager and a strong head-office team. About the Venue Lake Macquarie Tavern is a busy suburban pub with a loyal local crowd. The site includes: A large bistro with family‑friendly focus TAB and Gaming Sports bar with a strong local following Drive‑through bottleshop We’ve got big plans for the venue in 2026 and are looking for a manager who can lead the team through its next stage of growth. What You’ll Do Lead day‑to‑day venue operations across bar, bistro, gaming and bottleshop Manage and mentor a team of department managers and supervisors Drive sales performance, profitability and compliance Champion great service and a positive workplace culture Oversee rostering, training, and venue presentation Work closely with head office on marketing, events and community partnerships What We’re Looking For Previous experience as a 2IC, Assistant Manager, or senior Duty Manager in a pub or large hospitality venue Strong leadership and communication skills Understanding of financial performance and compliance requirements A people‑first attitude – you lead from the front and support your team RSA, RCG and TAB compliance certificates (required) A passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences What’s on Offer Competitive salary package based on experience Weekly food & beverage allowance Ongoing mentoring and development within Don Hodge Group Supportive leadership structure and strong group resources The opportunity to make an impact and grow your career within a multi‑venue group #J-18808-Ljbffr
