Senior Electrical PCS Engineer

About the Role As our organisation continues to grow with an expanding project portfolio we are seeking a Senior PCS Electrical Engineer within our Mackay office to support our team. Preference will be given to engineers with 5 years of proven experience in power system analysis and design. You will be responsible for conceptual and detailed design power system modelling and studies earthing and lightning protection through to commissioning support for LV and HV systems. Candidate Profile You will be degree or advanced diploma qualified in Electrical Engineering having extensive work experience in industrial power systems mining renewables or can demonstrate transferable skills from another industry. You must have an Australian drivers license. You must have full Australian work rights. Desirable Experience and Skills SKM PTW or ETAP experience. Strong working knowledge of AS3000 AS3008 AS2067 and AS1768. Extensive AutoCAD drafting experience. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey electrical engineering outcomes with clients stakeholders and other disciplines as required. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience across a variety of Heavy Industries. The ability to complete detailed electrical design work (schematics SLDs termination diagrams specifications scopes of work) Knowledge of power systems and LV / MV design such as MCCs Switchrooms HV & LV Switchgear. li>Earthing and lightning system modelling. Overhead line modelling is also advantageous. Knowledge of instrumentation PLC control systems networks and communications systems. Understanding of relevant Australian IEC and industry codes and standards. Functional safety and hazardous area experience and / or exposure in mining environments is advantageous. Demonstrated ability and genuine enthusiasm to motivate and mentor junior staff. Chartered status or eligibility to become registered with an accredited industry body such as Engineers Australia and RPEQ.
