Mining Industry - Residential role (no FIFO) 13% Super – Monthly contributions Doral Mineral SandsPty Ltd (DMS), mines and processes heavy mineral sands near Mandurah, Bunbury and Busselton in the Southwest of WA. As part of the company's growth strategy, we are looking to broaden our mineral sands operations within the Gascoyne region of WA. Doral are a medium sized business with a strong focus on our family culture and core values of safety, integrity, sustainability and collaboration. This role will provide an excellent opportunity as a valued and integral part of a successful mining operation, supporting our new business acquisition. The Accountant will report directly to the Senior Accountant. The role will ideally be based at our Picton site, near Bunbury, however the role will involve some travel to other sites. Key Responsibilities Execute month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness. Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, accruals, and journals. Lead annual budget development, forecasting, and re-forecasting. Prepare and lodge BAS and FBT returns. Monitor site operating costs and allocations for accurate forecasting. Support audits, tax compliance, and external reporting obligations. Liaise with site administration and operational teams for accurate financial data. Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and internal controls. About You Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within resources, mining, or heavy industry. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Pronto) and advanced Excel skills. Sound understanding of Australian taxation, GST, and payroll compliance. High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability. Excellent communication skills and ability to work across all levels of the organisation.
