Job Description About the Opportunity Are you a skilled Diesel Mechanic looking for a rewarding role that offers more than just a paycheck? Due to continued growth, we’re seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our high-performing maintenance team. Based in our well-equipped workshop, you’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet operating at peak performance through high-quality servicing, diagnostics, and repairs. About you You're a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. You thrive in a busy workshop environment, work well both independently and as part of a team, and are always focused on safety and quality. You’re not just good with tools – you're a problem solver who understands the importance of keeping buses moving. You take initiative, stay organised, and communicate clearly with others around you. You’ll also bring: A trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology (Cert III or equivalent), or trade qualified in Light Vehicle willing to upskill to Heavy Vehicle. Proven experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy vehicles or diesel equipment. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to doing high-quality work A strong focus on workplace safety and compliance. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to a positive team culture. About the working experience At Metro, we believe in investing in our people.
