Submit your application to apply for our new Graduate - Practice Support position with VACCA The role of the Graduate - Practice Support works cooperatively within VACCA on a 12-month direct service delivery rotational employment program. VACCA ensures that a high quality, culturally appropriate service is delivered to all children, families and carers. VACCA’s 12-month Graduate program is structured and purposeful, incorporating training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. The position provides opportunity to explore different program areas applying knowledge gained through education in a practical work environment. Predominately, the Graduate – Practice Support will develop client facing casework skills by shadowing casework staff across a range of programs providing better outcomes for children, families and carers. VACCA’s Aboriginal Graduate Program: This role includes a 12-month rotational employment program. Candidates will experience a structured rotation across our direct program service areas during the 12 months. Graduates will have the chance to gain hands-on experience across various services to enhance their understanding of the various roles and community service work that fundamentally shape the Aboriginal Community Service sector. A dedicated graduate team will offer effective supervision and cultural mentorship. An organized orientation program and additional learning development networks are included and scheduled throughout the year. Weekly professional development sessions are set up for graduates. Opportunities for additional professional growth and connections with fellow graduates in the sector are available. Clear paths for career progression and ongoing job prospects are outlined. About You Are you Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander? Have you completed a qualification in the Social and Community Services area of study within the last 24 months? Already started a new role within the last 12 months this opportunity is also available to you. Ability to engage vulnerable children, young people, their families and their carers in outreach work activities. Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain), and a Victorian Driver Licence.
