About the opportunity The IFYS Child Protection Residential Care Programs support children and young people needing a safe, dependable, and nurturing living environment. Reporting to the Case Manager, Residential Youth Workers deliver the day-to-day care to young people in the Residential Care house. A day in the role of a Residential Youth Worker may include supporting young people to manage challenging behaviours, planning or attending activities and following daily routines to promote life‑skills development. Residential Youth Workers complete case notes and admin tasks daily as well as helping to maintain a clean and safe environment. Candidates with transferrable skills from working with vulnerable people who display challenging behaviours are strongly encouraged to apply. What's on offer Casual employment throughout the Toowoombaregion Competitive hourly rates casual base $48.31 (inclusive of 25% loading) – IFYS is committed to gender pay equity Afternoon shift $53.14, Night shift $54.11, Saturday shift $67.64, Sunday shift $86.96, Sleepover allowance $60.02 Not for profit salary packaging options (package up to $15,900 per FBT year) No rostered 24 hour shifts or use of personal vehicle on shift Dedicated on‑call team for after‑hours support Paid in‑house training opportunities including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Preventing Child Sexual Exploitation and Sanctuary training Comprehensive onboarding, including Hope & Healing, induction and a minimum of two buddy shifts Free access to the CALM Premium App & Flight Centre personal travel discounts Access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Key responsibilities Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for young people to grow and learn Support and manage young people’s complex and challenging behaviours in a consistent and calm manner Build rapport and remain non‑judgmental whilst maintaining professional boundaries Plan individual and group activities to meet the young people’s needs and goals in line with Case Plans Use daily routines to provide hands on training of life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and personal care Timely and accurate completion of administrative duties including petty cash, case notes, and incident reports Transport clients to school, work, appointments and other commitments A QLD Working with Children Blue Card or have applied for one Current Queensland driver’s licence with no restrictions Ability to provide two references from recent employers (including your current line manager) Already hold or are enrolled in a Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field prior to commencing work (IFYS can provide advice/more information on this) Availability for a variety of different shifts over a fortnightly roster (day/evening/sleepover/weekend) As part of our recruitment process, we do a number of history screenings including a Licensed Care Suitability check (LCS2) and a National Crime Check If you would like further information on this role, please call 3*** and ask to speak to Veronica Reain the Recruitment Team or email ***********@ifys.com.au #J-18808-Ljbffr
