Relief Water Operator

TRILITY is seeking a Relief Operator to join our Operations team on a 2 year full-time, fixed-term contract. Use your skills in all facets of water treatment plant operations, getting to work on different plants and travel across Australia. The person can be based in Victoria, NSW or Queensland. The role As a Relief Operator you will be responsible for all facets of water or wastewater treatment operations, as directed by the client or Water Quality Manager. This is a full time role, two year fixed term position that requires significant travel within and between states, including regional and remote locations, ranging between 1 week up to 3 months. The role also requires the flexibility to be a part of an on-call roster system and the willingness to respond immediately to telemetry alarms during all non-working hours when on call. Key responsibilities Ensure TRILITY systems for Safety, Quality and Environment are used and that all activities undertaken comply with approved plans. Process control including ordering of chemicals and receiving deliveries, verifying documentation and liaising with the client on demand and flow changes. Monitoring of plant performance including all process equipment and responding to plant and process alarms. Undertake maintenance activities (both planned and unplanned). Project management duties including liaising with suppliers and contractors, procurement of goods, materials and services, supervision of contractors, commissioning, risk assessments etc. Conduct sampling and analysis and also liaise with external laboratory as required. Keep up to date record across all areas. Assist in the commissioning of new plants as necessary, including testing of plant equipment and verification of plant performance. What we are looking for At least 5 years experience in operation and maintenance of water or wastewater or similar facilities. Familiarity in use of PC’s and a range of software and SCADA. A current Australian Driver’s license. Certificate III in water or wastewater operations. Willingness to travel regularly and spend extended periods awayli> Possess a high level of maturity, with the ability to make decisions with minimal direction and guidance. Possess sound judgement and problem solving in relation to operational issues. A reliable team member and be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time. Able to work independently for long periods. Why TRILITY?
