Band 5 - $40.69 per hour, plus 25% casual loading (plus super). About the Role As an Environmental Education Officer, you will play a key role in delivering our schools and community environmental education programs. You will thrive in this role if you are passionate about educating children and the general community on sustainability topics. Reporting to the Coordinator - Community Environmental Education, the core responsibilities include: Deliver our School Sustainability Education Programs for preschool, primary and secondary students, ensuring the objectives of each session are met. Deliver our Community Sustainability Education programs and behaviour change initiatives, including hosting workshops, events, presentations and information stalls. Assisting with promotion, scheduling, and coordination of education programs across multiple venues. Contribute to continuous improvement of program content, resources, and delivery techniques to strengthen participant engagement and learning outcomes. Maintaining accurate records, reports, and participant information in line with legislative and Shire requirements. About You To succeed in this role, you bring a combination of education, experience, and personal attributes that enable you to deliver engaging, practical, and impactful environmental education including: A degree or diploma in education, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field; or lesser formal qualifications with at least two years’ relevant experience. Experience in sustainability, behaviour change, or environmental education is highly desirable. Demonstrated skill as an educator, facilitator, or presenter, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Experience engaging with children, schools, and community groups, building positive relationships and encouraging participation. Able to work efficiently through shifting priorities, variable environments, and changing community needs.
