Technician - Field Service

Join to apply for the Technician - Field Service role at Cummins Asia Pacific Based out of our Toowoomba branch in Queensland, you will diagnose and complete repairs to engines at the customer’s site, working across automotive, mining, industrial and agriculture market segments. You Will Make An Impact In The Following Ways Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner, anticipating and ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. Apply the use of specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field. Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisors. Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Identify additional service opportunities with customers. Complete training in line with skill and business requirements. Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation. Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues/incidents to site management and supervisors. Complete in-workshop repairs as required. Additional Information Full Time / 38 hours per week On Call Roster 1 week per month Overtime as required – Penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours All safety equipment/PPE and uniforms are provided and laundered Domestic relocation from across Australia may be offered for the right candidate Local valid driver’s licence is required To be successful in this role you will need the following Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent Basic level of workshop or field service experience required Basic knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Heavy vehicle experience preferred Mining experience preferred HR licence preferred Critical Competencies Health and Safety Fundamentals – champions proactive health and safety behaviours by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety. Diagnostics Application – translates customer complaints into a troubleshooting plan; troubleshoots issues, validates repairs and documents results. Electronic Service Tool Application – identifies the suite of available hardware and software tools required for a service event. Engine Systems Interactions – interprets and analyses the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems. Product Repair and Maintenance – repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines and standard repair times. Service Documentation – creates and verifies customer, equipment and technical information. Technical Escalation – obtains product technical issue information and utilizes available resources, elevating issues when necessary.
