Family Violence Prevention Division Manager Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, urban Alice Springs, and Central Australia. Tangentyere’s Family Violence Prevention Division aims to improve the quality of life of Central Australian Aboriginal people and the wider community, through providing innovative, responsive, and culturally appropriate services and offers support, referral, resources, group and individual sessions for men, women and young people impacted by family violence as well as secondary consult/referral for agencies. Tangentyere’s Family Violence Prevention Division is committed to applying an integrated response to prevent family violence in Town Camps and in the wider Alice Springs community. The vision and strategy of this division is to engage men, women and children to understand the drivers of and contributors to family violence. This in turn empowers and educates people, enabling them to pass on the knowledge to future generations, leading to hope and healing. The Family Violence Prevention Division Manager is responsible for all activities undertaken by the Tangentyere Family Violence Prevention Division. This includes the management and supervision of staff, monitoring program contractual compliance, client related systemic advocacy and overall administrative oversight for Division programs. The Family Violence Prevention Division Manager will represent Tangentyere Council in diverse forums, attend relevant internal and external meetings and provide leadership to the division. The Family Violence Prevention Division Manager is also accountable to Tangentyere Council’s Board and Senior Management. The successful candidate is to always ensure the safety of children and vulnerable people and report any concerns in line with duty of care obligations and this should be modelled to all staff within the division. There is a zero tolerance for abuse of any kind, whether abuse has taken place or there has been a failure to report any suspected or alleged abuse. It is therefore an expectation that the successful candidate upholds this and acts accordingly if or when required. Responsibilities Manage the development of the Family Violence Prevention Division. Manage the administration of the Family Violence Prevention Division including monitoring Division financials. Provide leadership to Family Violence Prevention Division staff. Provide specialist advice and guidance to the organisation regarding domestic, family & sexual violence. Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including NT, Commonwealth Government & NGOs. Prepare funding applications, performance reports and submissions to relevant government inquiries. Collaborate with other Divisions and Enterprises to determine appropriate solutions to issues in the delivery of services. Assist with achieving quality management objectives across the organisation. Assist with achieving safeguarding objectives across the organisation. Assist with achieving compliance objectives across the organisation. Other reasonable duties as required. Qualifications and Selection Criteria Required Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work or a related discipline. Experience in managing domestic, family and sexual violence programs. Proven experience and knowledge in risk assessment and management frameworks in the context of domestic, family, and sexual violence. Self-motivated and outcome orientated, with the capacity to deal with multiple and at times conflicting priorities. Experience in identifying appropriate services or resources and build effective relationships to work with multidisciplinary teams across the health and community services sectors. Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage a large team. Demonstrated ability to manage finances effectively. The ability to develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures. Current NT Drivers Licence, NT Working with Children (Ochre) Card, satisfactory Police Check, and proof of full (3) vaccinations against COVID-19. Desired Current First Aid Certificate, or ability and willingness to attain. An understanding of Aboriginal culture as well as a broad range of contemporary issues affecting Central Australian Aboriginal people. #J-18808-Ljbffr
