Overview The Child and Youth Mental Health Community Clinician located in St. Leonards is a temporary part time position (24 hours per week) until 12 January 2027. The Lower North Shore (LNS) Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provides a comprehensive range of assessments and interventions to children, young people and their families. Where you'll be working St Leonards in the Royal North Shore CHC What you'll be doing CYMHS Clinicians are required to manage a complex caseload with presentations from 0-17 year olds from a variety of psycho-social backgrounds. The evidenced based treatment modalities provided include client centred psychotherapies and family focused therapies such as Attachment Based Family Therapy, CBT and DBT. There is a requirement to conduct extensive networking with services such as the education department and local schools, the GP and other private, government and non-government services. The multi-disciplinary team approach provides a supportive environment given the demand and acuity of presentations. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing and registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Workers. Clinical Psychologists must have a minimum postgraduate Masters or higher in Clinical Psychology. For Social Work, experience as a Level 2 clinician. Occupational Therapist must have experience as a Level 2 clinician. Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 must have relevant post‑registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post‑graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the assessment, formulation and treatment of infant, child and adolescent mental health and intermediate knowledge and skills in family relationship issues. Demonstrated capacity for multi-disciplinary including peer work.
