Join our dynamic team in Charters Towers We’re offering a full-time, 12-month temporary contract starting 21 January 2026, working across three vibrant state primary schools — Millchester State School, Richmond Hill State School, and Charters Towers Central State School, with Charters Towers Central as your base. If you’re adaptable, passionate, and ready for a rewarding challenge, we’d love to hear from you Charters Towers Central State School Charters Towers Central State School, founded in 1875, is a public primary school (Prep-Year 6) located just over 1 km from the Charters Towers CBD. The school focuses on providing a supportive, community-oriented learning environment and operates under the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, promoting respect, safety, and responsibility. Millchester State School Established in 1874, Millchester State School is the oldest school in the Charters Towers region and sits on spacious, historical grounds on Phillipson Road. It maintains a strong “small school” ethos, offering a nurturing environment where students receive individual attention and support across Prep to Year 6. Richmond Hill State School Richmond Hill State School, founded in 1895, is a primary school known for its strong community connections and emphasis on productive partnerships with families. The school promotes a caring and respectful culture, guided by values of Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Safety, and positive relationships, all reinforced through restorative practices. Step Into Your Next Chapter Provide educational counselling and support services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students across a number of schools. Participate in the development of activities, in and out of school, likely to enhance the involvement in education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families. Develop and undertake support service programs designed to meet the needs of the school/s that will encourage the educational participation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students. Establish and maintain links with out of school sources of information and support services to assist in the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and students. Provide information to the school community about Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander social and cultural perspectives. Please view the role description for a full list of responsibilities.
