That’s why we’re committed to supporting this training program and the right candidates through their Diploma of Marine Operations (Marine Engineering Class 3 Near Coastal) course at the Australian Maritime College (AMC) – including fully funded tuition, travel and accommodation. The program also provides practical sea time, mentorship from experienced engineers and ongoing guidance throughout the certification process. Program Details This is a 12‑month full‑time traineeship designed to provide the training, experience and support needed to achieve your AMSA Engineer Class 3 NC Certificate of Competency. Applicants must be ready to commence in February 2026 and be willing to travel to Launceston, TAS to complete the AMC course requirements and AMSA oral examinations over a period of approximately 13 weeks, commencing from 20 April 2026.
