Singleton Neighbourhood Centre and OpenDoor Coordinator Singleton Neighbourhood Centre Incorporating OpenDoor - Coordinators - Permanent Part-Time - Monday to Thursday Our Mission The Singleton Neighbourhood Centre (SNC) strives to achieve excellence in the delivery of community-based services to the residents of the Singleton Local Government Area, by providing positive, welcoming and inclusive community focused programs and activities that inspire lifelong learning and create connectedness and contribute to a sense of place to enhance individual and community wellbeing Our Values Collaboration – work positively with all employees, volunteers, clients and visitors to achieve the best possible outcomes through collaborative efforts Accountability – accept responsibility for our own actions and decisions, and demonstrate commitment to accomplish work in an ethical, efficient and cost-effective manner – accountability & transparency are foundations of workplace equity Inclusivity – interact appropriately with all business and community partners, fostering respect for all employees, volunteers, clients and visitors, without regard to individual characteristics and perspectives, and is dedicated to creating a hospitable and welcoming environment Empathy – place high value on demonstrating compassion, respect and understanding in all interactions – attempt to see another’s perspective and improve those interactions Commitment – be team focused, listen actively, strive for excellence, communicate openly and honestly, set SMART goals (specific/measurable/achievable/relevant/time-bound) and diligently work to achieve them Primary Purpose of the Position As the Coordinator of the Singleton Neighbourhood Centre (SNC) and OpenDoor (OD) the position holder will work under the direction of the General Manager and coordinate services within both the SNC and the OD and support and encourage Volunteers along with assisting, the Community from Singleton LGA Qualifications & Experience Cert IV in Social Services or equivalent or demonstrated experience working in the same area Demonstrated experience in meaningful stakeholder engagement Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and mentoring a team of Volunteers Working with Children’s Check (must be a paid check not a volunteer check) Food Safety Supervisor certificate or willingness to obtain To be non-judgmental and to show empathy to all people using the Centre To be a team player with good communication and time management skills To be able to take direction from your General Manager To understand and respect the linguistic and cultural diversity of the people we support within our Centre and supporting agencies Previous experience with event management Communication Skills: able to communicate effectively, clearly (oral & written) with active listening, and able to respond with understanding and respect while respecting the values and diversity of others Personal Attributes: high personal levels of motivation and enthusiasm, integrity and professionalism, respect and inclusivity, ethics and cultural sensitivity, and able to establish and develop positive and meaningful relationships Able to work within competing priorities, often in pressure situations for sustained periods, and to act decisively while mitigating risks and avoiding undesirable negative outcomes If you’re ready to empower volunteers and strengthen community impact, we’d love to hear from you To apply: With guidance from the Position Description and by addressing the Selection Criteria, please let us know why you are the right person to fill this role (maximum two pages).
