Overview Fire Safety Engineer at AECOM – Sydney, Buildings & Places team. This role would suit either a Senior Engineer or someone close to achieving that milestone in their career. Responsibilities Providing substantial technical expertise of fire engineering, from first principles to leading a large-scale fire engineering projects from concept stage through to building occupation. Project and client relationship management across a variety of markets. Develop performance-based fire engineering strategies across a wide range of buildings and infrastructure projects. Mentor team members in their development, facilitate opportunities that build competency, and assist with professional accreditation where appropriate. Qualifications The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply; all applications will be considered. 5+ years’ experience as a Fire Safety Engineer. A relevant Engineering qualification (preferably in Fire Engineering) alongside a thorough understanding of the Building Code of Australia and the Australian Fire Engineering Guidelines. A record of leading fire engineering projects and leading negotiations with approval authorities to gain acceptance of the performance-based design. Prior experience in the preparation of Performance Based Design Briefs, Fire Engineering Reports and Fire Engineering Strategies.
