We are on the search for a Full time Team Leader to join our team in Bowen. The Team Leader plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our 2x Supported Independent Living (SIL) houses in Bowen. This position provides on-site leadership to Lifestyle Facilitators, ensures safe and quality support is delivered in line with participant goals, and acts as the liaison between frontline staff and the Manager. Responsibilities Supporting Lifestyle Facilitators to implement participant plans and daily routines. Maintaining site safety, staff coverage, and responsive shift operations. Ensuring communication, incident reporting, and compliance requirements are upheld. Promoting participant wellbeing, dignity, and positive behaviour support practices. Ensure accurate completion of relevant documentation, ensuring consistency, quality and compliance. The successful applicant will : Oversee the daily operations of the SIL sites. Mentor new staff in house orientations, participants needs, support plans and goals. This will include oversight of manual handling tasks and personal care routines of clients. Possess a genuine passion for working with people. Be reliable, flexible, and committed to assisting people to achieve their goals and live their best life. Maintain exceptional professional standards of care and support. Have own vehicle with full comprehensive insurance and willing to use to transport clients as required. All allowances will be paid when using your own vehicle. Key Selection Criteria Relevant Qualification in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services or similar field (cert 3 or above). Demonstrated leadership or acting team lead experience in a support setting with exceptional communication skills and ability to be able to complete records and documentation accurately. Be able to follow instructions and follow policies and procedures effectively. Willingness to work as part of a team and independently. Sound Knowledge of the NDIS practice standards. Current First Aid and CPR certificates. Current NDIS Worker Screening (yellow card) and Working with children Check (blue card) – or willingness to obtain these. Completed free NDIS orientation modules – “Quality safety and you” “Supporting safe and enjoyable meals” Salary packaging and extensive face to face and online training available offered by Spinal Life Australia and National Disability Services. Training and Availability There will be an initial and ongoing requirement to attend training and meetings in Mackay as required. There will also be a need to be available after hours for extra client/staff supports as required.
