FX Market Economist Location: Sydney, Australia (Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 from home) Role Working as part of a global team of market analysts, the successful candidate will play a key role in providing market commentary and analysis on the foreign exchange market for Ebury’s clients and front office staff. The role will provide the candidate with a unique platform to showcase and hone a variety of skills, from writing market reports, delivering webinars and in-person client presentations, to providing the media with analysis on macroeconomics and currencies. This is an exciting opportunity to front our FX market analysis in Australia, and contribute to our research efforts both in the APAC region and globally. Responsibilities: Improve Ebury’s presence in tier-1 financial media via written commentary in news articles and TV/radio appearances. Produce FX market reports on a range of currencies, particularly those in APAC, for Ebury’s clients and internal staff. Assist in producing currency forecasts through researching macroeconomic data, central bank monetary policy and politics. Conduct presentations with Ebury’s front office teams to provide updates on the latest developments in financial markets. Present Ebury’s in-house thoughts and views on markets to clients and prospects via webinars and seminars. Provide ‘live’ insight to our sales and dealing teams on the latest developments in the foreign exchange market. Requirements: University degree (economics or economics-related degree preferable). At least 2-3 years experience in financial markets, ideally as an analyst. Keen and enthusiastic about financial markets, macroeconomics and politics, with an appetite to learn more. A clear, concise and engaging writing style. Strong and engaging presentation skills.A proactive mindset and an ability to work independently. TV and media experience.
