Engineer - Mobile (iOS) at REA Group Join us as an iOS Mobile Engineer to help build the future of property search on realestate.com.au. The role sits within the Listing Foundations squad of the Listing, Visualisation & Content business unit, supporting the core systems that power property detail pages, search results, and listing content for millions of Australians every month. Where the team fits in The Listing Foundations squad is a key part of the Listing, Visualisation & Content business unit. We maintain high‑performance, reliable systems that enable REA to deliver new features and high‑quality user experiences at scale. What the role is all about Write, test, and document high‑quality code aligned with REA Engineering standards. Own and deliver features or stories through to production. Apply engineering skills to create well‑crafted, scalable solutions. Solve defined technical challenges, collaborating with senior engineers on complex problems. Participate in discussions about technical architecture, direction, and development practices. Collaborate and pair with other engineers to ensure integrated, consistent solutions that meet team goals. Contribute to squad ways of working and help foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Work closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to build solutions serving user needs. Maintain and enhance existing products and services, including bug fixes and feature improvements. Support production systems, including being on the on‑call roster. Who we’re looking for Solid experience in mobile software development with proficiency in iOS. Proven ability to build and maintain high‑quality, performant, scalable mobile applications. Willingness to work across the stack when needed, supporting integrations, backend services, and delivery pipelines. Experience delivering product features from implementation through deployment and support. Strong collaboration and communication skills, able to discuss technical concepts clearly in a cross‑functional team. Comfortable working in an agile, fast‑paced environment with a focus on quality, maintainability, and user experience. Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues. Commitment to the “you build it, you run it” philosophy, taking ownership of your code from development to production. Familiarity with dev‑ops tools and techniques (Docker, Git, GCP, AWS, CI/CD). Familiarity with building solutions that perform well for a large user base. Interest in contributing to technical discussions and learning mobile architecture best practices from senior peers.
