Women's Caseworkers, Counsellor-Advocates, Community Educator - Multiple roles The Women's Centre North Queensland Services – Townsville QLD We are hiring for a number of positions in the Women's Wellbeing and Sexual Assault Support Field Women's Caseworker Community Educator - Women's Health and Sexual Assault Women's Wellbeing and Sexual Assault Support Counsellor - Advocate A long established, well known and expanding community service in Townsville, The Women’s Centre has been advocating against gender-based violence for over 40 years We have received significant government funding to enhance this work in our community. The Women’s Centre is based in Townsville, tropical North Queensland. Come and work with us at our purpose‑built facility that prioritises the safety and support of women; a women’s only space where women can access services that respond to their unique needs and which emphasises women’s rights, choices and control. Our team is highly skilled, experienced, supportive and dedicated to challenging systems that condone and perpetuate gender-based violence. We are seeking qualified women to join our team who can provide trauma informed, holistic, wrap around counselling, advocacy and practical case management support to women and victim‑survivors. We are also seeking a Community Educator to raise awareness in the community and provide education to health and other service providers covering the priority health areas and sexual assault. About you: Minimum requirement of bachelor's degree in social work or social sciences or substantial relevant experience with a lessor relevant qualification Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate trauma and violence informed values, knowledge and skills in a range of interventions that support women’s health and wellbeing and who may have experienced trauma, including sexual violence and domestic violence. Essential Registrations: Current Working with Children Blue Card. Right to Work (Australian/New Zealand passport; Australian/New Zealand Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate or International Passport & Visa) As part of the Sexual Assault Support Service, the role also provides a very unique opportunity to participate in best practice responses to sexual violence to all genders. This requires shared contribution on a 24‑hour roster as part of Townsville’s Sexual Assault Response Team, alongside police, hospital and prosecution. What we offer: Remuneration is in accordance with the SCHCADS Award 2010 (Level 4‑5). 28 days annual leave per year. 15 days personal/carers leave. Salary Sacrificing.
