The Role Thales AMS is searching for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in core Java coupled with either JavaFX, Java Swing, or JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS and ReactJS. Responsibilities Designing and delivering software to meet requirements including design, reuse, development, integration and verification. Defining and tailoring the software engineering environment and the process, practices and tools applicable to the project. Ensuring that the designed solution is developed according to design, schedule, cost and quality expectations. Identifying risks, and proposing effective solutions; executing mitigation actions and reporting on outcomes and residual risks. This position is hybrid working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home based at our Melbourne CBD office. Qualifications Relevant bachelor’s or master’s Degree. Skills & Experience Australian Citizen as there is a need to obtain clearance. Proficiency in core Java coupled with experience in either JavaFX, Java Swing, or JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, ReactJS. Working within a highly regulated domain e.g. Transport/Banking/Healthcare/Aerospace. Clearance A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance. Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
