A highly legal practice that has operated in Maroochydore, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, for many years, is seeking an experienced and passionate Conveyancer with the desire to work in a friendly and cohesive team environment. Within the Property team, they have 2 Directors (Commercial Lawyers), 1 Conveyancer, 1 Junior Property Lawyer/Conveyancer, 1 Paralegal (handles Seller Disclosure and second letters), 1 Receptionist (handles file openings, data entry, and initial letters), and 1 legal student who assists the conveyancing team when available. THE ROLE This position will see you responsible for dealing with all the legal matters, administration, finance, and queries involved for residential property transactions. You will manage the full conveyancing process, including contracts, transfers, and mortgages, and prepare all documents that sellers and purchasers must sign during a transaction, including disclosure procedures. You will communicate effectively with clients, real estate agents, solicitors and other stakeholders. This may be concerning the buying and selling of residential properties and off the plan transactions. You will provide quality advice on all stages of the conveyancing process. Protecting clients’ interests is always of the highest priority, with excellent communication a must, while taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering. Support from senior lawyers will be given as needed, with disclosure procedures and special conditions as necessary. ALL ABOUT YOU Minimum 3 years’ experience as a conveyancer. High level of competency in conveyancing and Queensland property law. Relevant legal qualifications (e.g. Cert IV in Property Services, Diploma in Conveyancing, or equivalent) will be seen as an advantage. Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines. Exceptional communication, client service and organisational skills. Strong work ethic and solid employment history. Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Exceptional IT skills and experience. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Experience using legal software and PEXA. Interest in building client relationships, as well as working with the marketing department to identify potential growth opportunities.
