Field Service Engineer (Newcastle, Australia) Rapiscan Systems Overview Rapiscan Systems, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. The Field Service Engineer (FSE) has the overall technical responsibility for ensuring sites meet all contracted Service Level Agreements (SLA) and executes routine work including installation, repair and maintenance support of the full range of Rapiscan's Checkpoint & Trace products in Australia and New Zealand. Responsibilities Installation of the full range of Checkpoint & Trace products at customer sites. Routine preventative and breakdown maintenance of the equipment at customer sites. Provide out-of-hour standby cover as part of established teams. Carry out basic operator and technical training when required at customer sites. Carry out site surveys and advise customers on technical matters prior to installations. Complete all reporting requirements, both internal and customer-based reports, in a timely manner. Comply with all QA and HSE requirements, as stipulated by Rapiscan Systems and relevant legislation. Travel as required. Any other departmental ad-hoc duties when required. Report quality problems or defects to management. Duty may be modified to meet needs of business. Qualifications Min 2+ years of experience in a similar role. Electrical / Electronic background preferred. High level of organizational skills. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage responsibility in an independent manner. Exceptional attention to detail and capability to develop detailed processes. Ability to multi-task. Successful record of on-time project delivery. Able to quickly grasp new technologies at a high level. Ability to manage conflict and liaise with demanding clients. Strong client relationship skills. Strong ability to represent a professional image on site. PC literate and Microsoft knowledge required. Availability for some after-hours work. Electronics and computer knowledge.
