About the role Advanced practice nurse providing autonomous, expert clinical assessment, treatment and discharge of paediatric emergency patients within the See & Treat service. Works independently and collaboratively, ensuring high-level care, accountability and alignment with credentialed scope. Key duties of the role Conduct comprehensive assessment and clinical management of patients in See & Treat / ACE PED or via CAVUCS telehealth. Initiate interventions, prescribe medications, use clinical equipment, and manage patient admission and discharge. Supervise Nurse Practitioner Candidates and support development through education and mentorship. Apply research evidence and clinical expertise to support advanced decision-making and innovation. Provide expert consultancy and high-level advice on clinical practice, workforce, protocols, legislation, education and research. Skills and Experience Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with the notation of Nurse Practitioner. Registered Nurse / Midwife with at least 5 years post registration experience. Demonstrated advanced level of nursing practice in the care and management of Emergency Nursing. Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
