Chinese Secondary Teacher

ELTHAM College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Chinese Teacher to join our LOTE Team for a fixed-term position covering Long Service Leave during Semester 1, 2026. This part-time role (0.6 FTE). involves teaching Chinese from Years 7–10, with the ability to teach VCE Chinese Units 1/2 highly desirable. About the Role Teach Chinese language and culture in an engaging, contemporary and student-centred manner Develop and deliver inclusive learning programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and, if applicable, VCE Study Design Nurture a positive learning environment where students feel safe, valued and empowered to explore new ideas Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and contribute to the LOTE program across the College Participate in College community life, including relevant events, learning experiences and community activities About you Qualified Teacher with current VIT registration Experience teaching Chinese to Years 7–10 is essential Ability to teach VCE Chinese Units 1/2 is highly desirable A strong understanding of contemporary pedagogical practices and language acquisition approaches Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
