Senior Civil Estimator

Due to sustained growth and a strong forward pipeline of work, Shadforth is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Pre-Contracts Team. Based on the Sunshine Coast, you’ll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a wide range of civil infrastructure and subdivision projects across Queensland and Northern NSW. This is a fulltime, permanent position within a high performing and supportive team that values collaboration, innovation, and work-life balance. About The Role Lead the pricing and preparation of detailed tenders for projects ranging from $500k to $20M Review and interpret tender documentation, drawings, scope of works and contracts Identify project risks, opportunities and value-engineering alternatives Work closely with our delivery teams to ensure constructability and accurate methodologies Engage and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement in our systems We are looking for a confident and commercially aware civil professional who can take ownership of estimates and drive outcomes. You may come from an estimating background or be a Project Engineer or Project Manager looking to transition into pre-contracts work. You’ll Ideally Bring Experience in civil estimating or project delivery, ideally including subdivisions, bulk earthworks, roadworks, or infrastructure A proven ability to read plans and scope documentation and price from first principles Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g. Benchmark, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or similar) A proactive mindset, with the ability to suggest alternative methods or cost saving opportunities Previous experience mentoring junior team members is a strong advantage Why work with Shadforth?
