About the role We are experiencing steady growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, and as a result, we are looking for a skilled Senior Commissioning Engineer to join our team at our Dandenong South depot. This hands-on role demands broad technical expertise and substantial experience working on substation projects that are integral to Australia's transition to a Net Zero future. You will be part of our Zinfra Contracting VIC Testing & Commissioning Enterprise Agreement 2025, with a competitive salary and a tool-of-trade vehicle provided. The role typically involves medium to long-term projects across Victoria, with a 9-day fortnight schedule, and overtime paid at penalty rates. Key Responsibilities include Plan & lead the testing and commissioning activities for both brownfield and greenfield 22kV-500kV Substation projects Plan and execute outage activities with a focus on safety Track, report, and ensure progress aligns with the project commissioning schedule Conduct Protection & Control relay testing Perform IEC61850 system testing Primary Plant testing & commissioning Drawing, ITP and defect/RFI management Supervise and mentor junior team members About You To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in a similar role, having worked on complex brownfield and greenfield substation projects and hold an Advanced Diploma of ESI Power Systems or an Electrical Engineering Degree Experience within the Australian transmission/distribution networks A strong background in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) testing and commissioning Relevant training and authorisations in line with VESI standards (desirable) Proficient in the operation of Doble and/or Omicron secondary injection test equipment and other primary plant test equipment Experience with IEC61850 projects is desirable but not essential Our people are our energy source, and we offer meaningful benefits and rewards that work for you.
