We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Flood Engineer to join our Sydney team. This role will suit someone looking to work on various projects in a friendly and supportive team with a growing market leader. This position can be based at either our Norwest or Sydney CBD offices, which are conveniently located near public transport and entertainment. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality flood studies, floodplain management plans, and risk assessments, clearly communicating flood conditions, regulatory requirements, and potential impacts of proposed developments on upstream and downstream properties. Coordinate projects and collaborate closely with the broader development and design teams to achieve successful outcomes. Provide technical expertise and guidance to peers, while mentoring and supporting junior team members in their professional growth. Manage project timelines, budgets, and invoicing, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within scope. Maintain strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and the delivery of practical, high‑quality solutions. Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring documentation and compliance with internal and external standards. Skills and Expertise A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields. 5+ years’ experience in civil or stormwater engineering and flood management projects. Proven experience in preparing and reviewing flood studies and flood risk management plans. Strong technical skills using hydrological and hydraulic modelling software and GIS tools such as TUFLOW, RORB/WBNM, HEC‑RAS, DRAINS, and 12D. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and willingness to take on new challenges.
