Salary: $113,574 – $125,720 per annum, super and leave loading included. Priority: Ongoing employees affected by change‑management plans will be given priority consideration for at‑grade positions. About the Role Central Tablelands Local Land Services is looking for a Biosecurity Project and Programs Officer to assist the Invasive Species team with project management and the delivery of on‑ground programmes and advisory services for the management of animal biosecurity in the region, including surveillance and investigation activities related to pest animal management. Responsibilities Lead the Central Tablelands LLS Pest Levy project and/or additional external targeted funding projects, responsible for contract development, budget oversight, phasing and project reporting. Prepare and deliver the annual Pest Levy Service Delivery Plan and other related plans in collaboration with the Invasive Species team. Provide oral and written reporting to the Leadership team as required. Manage communications for the Invasive Species team, including contributions to the external Tablelands Telegraph newsletter and media input when needed. Assist in the management and organisation of mandatory training for the Invasive Species team. Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate and deliver relevant programmes. Respond to ad‑hoc enquiries and attend emergency management activities. Ensure compliance with legislated responsibilities, including the use of restricted chemical and agricultural products. Prioritise timely and accurate reporting and management of data and documents. Attend community meetings and assist with bait preparation and major on‑ground programmes, where suitable training has been completed. Collaborate with stakeholders to apply legislation and policies across diverse activities. Balance complex and fast‑moving responsibilities where urgent issues often take priority. Address new biosecurity threats amidst evolving industry and community expectations. About You Sound knowledge of invasive pest animal management and compliance as it relates to relevant legislation. Strong understanding of biosecurity issues, especially pest animal management, and ability to act as a reference point for the team in decision‑making and guidance on challenging scenarios. Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or willingness and ability to complete it. Appropriate qualifications (minimum AQF 3) and knowledge relevant to pesticide application, or willingness to obtain such qualifications. Ability to be appointed as an authorised officer under the Biosecurity Act and demonstrated capability to understand, interpret and apply legislation and regulations, preferably related to biosecurity matters. Current NSW Class C driver licence and willingness to travel, including overnight stays, as required.
