Mining Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a Mining Engineer to join our Technical Development team in our Brisbane Corporate Office. This role plays an important part in delivering safe, efficient, and commercially aligned mine planning that supports both medium and longer term business strategy. Reporting to the Superintendent Medium Term Planning, you will provide technical expertise across mine design, scheduling, analysis, and project support. This opportunity is well suited to an engineer who enjoys working collaboratively, brings strong technical discipline, and is motivated by contributing to operational improvement and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities Develop and review medium term mine designs including annual dig and dump sequences and supporting project enablement activities. Undertake strategic design analysis, reserve development work, and reconciliation to support compliant and sustainable resource planning. Support quarterly scheduling including source and destination planning, haulage modelling, rulebook development, and model maintenance. Drive continuous improvement activities within design and scheduling models and contribute to the annual assumptions process. Provide analysis and technical insights across dragline studies, topsoil and rehabilitation planning, and infrastructure planning support. Collaborate closely with site and corporate stakeholders to ensure mine plans are safe, practical, and commercially aligned. Communicate progress, risks, and technical insights clearly to leaders and cross functional teams. About You Strong foundation in mining engineering supported by practical exposure to open cut operations. Confident in mine planning, design, scheduling, and the use of technical planning software such as Vulcan, Deswik, or SPRY. Able to interpret complex data and translate technical work into clear, meaningful insights for a range of stakeholders. Collaborative approach with well developed communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships. Naturally curious with an interest in improvement, innovation, and contributing to better operational and commercial outcomes. Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Why Join Us?
