ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Assistant Dockmaster to join our team at a busy and growing shipyard. Reporting directly to the Dockmaster, you will assist in the day-to-day operations, ensuring the safe berthing, docking, undocking, and movement of vessels within the facility. Facilities include both a 160 Tonne marine travel lift and a 400 Tonne Travel lift. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with docking and undocking of vessels, including line handling and mooring operations Support the Dockmaster in coordinating schedules, work scopes, and crew activities Operate and maintain plant equipment Maintain yard and hard stand bays Liaise with ship crews, contractors, and internal departments as needed REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF), EWP, or Crane tickets – Desirable Proven experience in marine, shipyard, or dockside operations Sound understanding of lifting, slinging, and rigging practices Ability to read and interpret lifting plans and conduct pre-lift assessments Strong commitment to workplace health and safety Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions Excellent communication and teamwork skills WHY JOIN NORSHIP?
