Summary Be the face of Isabel Hospice in one of our shops, welcoming customers and helping them find items to purchase Detailed description We are looking for Retail Volunteers to assist us in our Hoddesdon Shop on the High Street. If you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to help out in our shop, we'd love to hear from you This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful impact. Our shops play a crucial role in raising funds to support the essential services of Isabel Hospice. As a Retail Assistant, you will support and assist the team in maximising the shop's income by ensuring the shop floor is fully stocked and properly merchandised, and customers are served efficiently. We ask you to commit to at least one regular half‑day weekly session. Availability Available sessions: AM 9am–1pm, PM 1pm–5pm Specific days: Monday PM, Thursday AM, Friday PM. Alternative time slots can be arranged in agreement with the Shop Manager. What you’ll be doing Providing the highest standard of service to customers. Keeping the shop fully stocked and ensuring items are displayed to show them at their best. Operating tills and taking payments. Ensuring both stock and cash security procedures are always followed. Contributing to keeping the shop and premises clean and tidy. Providing support and guidance to new volunteers to help them settle into their roles. Promoting understanding of Isabel Hospice's work and the importance of fundraising through the shop. Raising awareness of Gift Aid among customers. Promoting and applying the Isabel Hospice Health & Safety Policy. Required skills and abilities Enjoy working in a team environment. Enjoy working with the public. Good organisational skills. Learn from experienced volunteers and staff. Eligibility requirements Are at least 18 years old. Live within an easy commute to the area. Are interested in volunteering for at least 6 months, for at least 3 hours per week. All volunteers are assessed individually. Maintain confidentiality per Isabel Hospice guidelines. Behave professionally and courteously. Demonstrate Isabel Hospice values. Identify yourself as a volunteer during duties. Please note this is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
