Do you have a passion for regional journalism and strong editorial leadership? The Gunnedah Times is seeking an experienced and community-minded Editor to lead our newsroom and shape the voice of one of the region’s most trusted publications. About the Role As Editor, you will oversee all editorial content for the Gunnedah Times, setting editorial standards, and ensuring the paper continues to deliver high-quality,accurateand engaging journalism. You will also work closely with the Managing Editor to support the delivery of all Collective Media publications. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about telling the stories that matter to the Gunnedah Shire community. Key Responsibilities Lead,mentorand manage the editorial team. Plan,reviewand oversee content for print and digital platforms. Write,editand proofread news, features and opinion pieces asrequired. Maintain strong relationships with community leaders,businessesand stakeholders. Uphold high editorial, ethical and legal standards. Represent the publication at events and community engagements. Ensure deadlines are met for both print and digital production. Work closely with advertising, digital and design teams. Contribute to digital strategy and audience growth. Manage editorial resources and work within budget. About You Proven experience in journalism, withpreviouseditorial or senior reporting experience (regional experience ideal). Strong writing, editing and decision-making skills. Excellent leadership,communicationand people skills. Ability to work under pressure, juggle deadlines and manage multiple priorities. A passion for community-driven reporting and strong news judgement. Solid understanding of CMS, socialmediaand digital news environments.
