About the Role Step into a dynamic role where you’ll deliver capital and sustaining projects that improve site performance and reliability. As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll manage projects end to end, ensuring they’re delivered safely, on time, and within budget while meeting all statutory and environmental requirements. Your work will include: Designing and building new infrastructure such as pump stations. Managing consultants and contractors for detailed design and execution. Leading major steel repairs and plant refurbishments. Developing business cases, scopes of work, and improvement initiatives. Preparing conceptual designs, feasibility studies, and cost estimates. Coordinating shutdown planning and liaising with cross‑functional teams. Driving compliance through audits, risk assessments, and change management. Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a collaborative team culture. This role offers variety, technical challenge, and exposure to the full project lifecycle, making it far more engaging than repetitive maintenance work. You’ll join a supportive team that values innovation and continuous improvement. About You You’re a qualified Mechanical Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering practical solutions. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry, you bring strong technical capability and project management skills. What sets you apart: A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Proven experience managing projects from design through to execution. Strong planning, cost control, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Project and MS Office; familiarity with Bluebeam and AutoCAD is a plus. Eligibility for National Engineering Registration or Chartered status (preferred). A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety, excellence, accountability, and respect.
