About the Role This role provides strategic employee relations advice and support to BHP’s Employee Relations function, specifically Copper SA. You will play a key role in executing the Employee Relations Strategy to support the delivery of a diverse and directly engaged workforce, enable us to deliver safe, sustainable and productive outcomes, and provide visible leadership of Our Values. In This Role You Will Provide strategic, risk-informed advice and support to line leaders in managing complex industrial relations and other ER matters in line with our Employee Relations Strategy Provide advice and interpretation on employment instruments and legislation Advise and support the business on dispute resolution and consultation processes Proactively support and develop line leader capability Contribute to and execute the ER strategy to deliver optimal business outcomes Support risk assessment activities, proactively identifying emerging ER risks and opportunities Support productivity initiatives and manage improvement projects Work as part of a broader global Employee Relations sub-function within the Human Resources function in a high trust, collaborative and flexible environment. To be successful in this role you will ideally have: An undergraduate degree in a human resources-related field or equivalent experience Experience in employee / industrial relations, preferably in large, complex organisations or resources sectors Experience in supporting enterprise bargaining activities Experience in supporting the management of workplaces disputesExperience in guiding leaders through business change or transformation processes Ability to problem solve, identify root cause and options for corrective actions Stakeholder management and influencing skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent project management skills Ability to identify and work to established priorities within a dynamic, fast paced environment Extensive knowledge of the Australian industrial relations system and legislation, including keeping up to date with developments in IR reform and case law. This role requires the successful candidate to be based in Adelaide and to attend the Adelaide office a minimum of three days per week, including a Monday and/or Friday, and travel to our operational sites as necessary (including occasionally overnight).
