Senior Civil or Mechanical Engineer - Water & Wastewater Job Description The importance of water to the health of our world can’t be overstated. Responsibilities Delivering various and significant NSW, Australian and international water and wastewater projects (either networks or treatment plants), by understanding clients’ needs, providing technical guidance and support to the project team for small, medium and large-scale projects (capex in the 100’s of millions) Technical leadership and project management to guide key projects and mentoring other team members. Using your technical and client relationship skills for the delivery of proposals, investigations and technical design projects. Understanding client and project technical requirements, assisting to develop solutions, and preparation of technical reports, designs & specifications, client proposals and presentations. Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including business development, and engagement throughout project delivery. Working closely with our clients to develop innovative technical solutions in wastewater and water treatment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, coupled with between 8 and 12 years of relevant water or wastewater experience in either networks or treatment plants. The ability to lead and/or work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team across the project lifecycle. Strong client relationship skills, project management skills, and experience in preparing winning proposals. Design or planning skills in water or wastewater networks or treatment, including producing technical reports, developing engineering drawings, specifications and tender documentation for water or wastewater treatment infrastructure. Experience with using civil or hydraulic design software is preferable. Project management or design management experience, together with a willingness and ability to mentor and provide direction to junior staff. Location: You can be based in Newcastle or any of our other Northern NSW offices (Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Tuggerah, Tamworth, Orange or Lismore). The role can be part-time or full-time.
