Our EnergyCo NSW Technical Advisory Services team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Power System Analysis Engineerto spearhead a team of specialists dedicated to conducting power system modelling. The Senior Power System Analysis Engineer will be a pivotal team player, ensuring the seamless integration of REZ infrastructure and securing a reliable energy supply to electricity customers through the application of cutting-edge modelling techniques. Beyond leading the technical aspects, your role extends to managing technical expertise for power systems modelling, contributing to the strategic growth and development of the team. About YouSuccessful candidates for the Senior Power System Analysis Engineer role must showcase proficiency in power system planning and analysis, utilising tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, and PSCAD. The role requires hands-on experience in leading the technical integration of Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) infrastructure, including the design of cost-effective network solutions and system strength infrastructure. Expertise in joint planning for shared transmission infrastructure, power system modelling, and analysis is crucial for optimizing various components of REZ infrastructure. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to undertake technical due diligence, streamline power system assessments through tool development, and lead the team in developing design specifications for new assets. Collaboration with network planning teams, industry experts, and effective administration of the REZ access regime are key aspects of the role.

Successful candidates must engage effectively with industry experts, leverage professional relationships, and conduct power system analysis for coordinated technical solutions. Decision-making responsibilities encompass power system analysis, alignment with Electricity Roadmap objectives, and referral of critical issues to higher management. Reporting directly to the Director of Power Systems, Technical Advisory Services, the role involves managing a team of up to two engineers. Candidates with experience in technical advisory roles, understanding of policy and commercial factors, and knowledge of integrating renewable energy will find this role both challenging and rewarding.
Possessing a valid driver's license and working rights in Australia will be key to becoming the successful candidate.

Who we are?EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of more than 14 gigawatts of new transmission capacity, coordinated with renewable energy and storage, including in five new REZs and two priority transmission infrastructure projects to date. We are responsible for the on-ground infrastructure needed to bring new renewable energy online at the scale and speed to meet our transformation objectives in the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 and NSW Network Infrastructure Strategy.
