Senior Software Engineer (Infrastructure) Wenco International Mining Systems, a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery ("HCM"), provides industry leading, innovative technologies to customers in the mining and material movement sectors, enabling sustainable and safe operations. Wenco has RD offices located in Australia, Canada and Chile. This role is based in Brisbane, working within the group delivering next-gen Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) utilising Open Autonomy. The Role You will join an agile product development team creating Wenco's next generation Open Autonomy platform. We are looking for someone with strong technical capability for a team creating high performance, high availability business critical capabilities. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for building out technology platforms to enable operation, monitoring and support of autonomous haulage systems. The Experience Must have : A minimum of 5 years in hands‑on technology roles A strong software development background, preferably in Python and C++ Deep experience with pipeline automation Strong commercial IaC experience. Terraform preferred You have worked with complex distributed systems with interactions between sensors, edge computing, fixed and wireless communications channels Highly capable at systems analysis and design You have experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Nice to have : You have prior experience with the mining industry and / or mining operational systems such as Asset Health or Fleet Management You have worked in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industry The Benefits Hybrid in‑office (2 days per week) and home‑office work policy Optional 9 days fortnight Annual Bonus Scheme Competitive salary based on your skills and experience Bachelor's Degree in Software or Systems Engineering or equivalent Must be currently eligible to work in Australia This role may require some travel to customers sites or international Wenco offices ( Wenco advances the efficiency and safety of the world's surface mining equipment through our fleet management systems.
