We are partnering with a large, complex organisation to engage an experienced Payroll Leader / Payroll Expert for an immediate contract opportunity. This role will suit a senior payroll professional who thrives in fast‑paced environments, enjoys leading through change, and brings deep technical expertise alongside strong people leadership. This is a hands‑on leadership role with a strong focus on governance, compliance, system optimisation, and stakeholder influence across a complex payroll landscape, underpinned by a highly integrated SAP SuccessFactors environment. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational leadership across payroll functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and service excellence within SAP SuccessFactors Lead payroll teams through periods of change, including SAP SuccessFactors system upgrades, process redesign, and business transformation initiatives Act as a senior decision‑maker on complex payroll matters, escalations, and compliance risks Drive payroll process optimisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging SAP SuccessFactors capabilities Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including BPO providers, to ensure seamless payroll delivery and system alignment Lead project activities including SuccessFactors upgrades, UAT testing, integrations, and change management Ensure payroll operations remain compliant with evolving Australian payroll legislation and regulatory requirements Key Requirements Extensive payroll leadership experience with strong decision‑making capability Deep knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, compliance, and governance frameworks Advanced SAP SuccessFactors experience is essential (Employee Central Payroll strongly preferred) Proven experience working with EBAs, grandfathering arrangements, and complex remuneration or policy frameworks Background working within or managing BPO payroll environments Demonstrated ability to lead and influence during periods of significant change Strong project delivery experience across payroll system upgrades, implementations, integrations, and SuccessFactors UAT/testing Track record of driving process optimisation, improving controls, accuracy, and efficiency Current, hands‑on understanding of the evolving Australian regulatory environment Why Apply Competitive day rate commensurate with experience High‑impact leadership role within a complex, SAP SuccessFactors‑driven payroll environment Opportunity to lead change and influence best‑practice payroll operations Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.To apply please click apply or call Zak Wunhym on for a confidential discussion.
