The salon delivers quality hair services to paying customers while also running a youth mentorship and training program for young people in the community. We are building something special, a community-first salon that blends professional hair services, skill development, and positive youth engagement. About the Role We are looking for a confident, experienced Senior Hairdresser to join our team as a subcontractor. You will provide full salon services to clients while also contributing to youth skill‑building sessions. This role is perfect for someone who loves hair, culture, and community — and is open to experiencing life in the NT outback. We are seeking a Senior Hairdresser with strong multicultural hair skills, especially braiding, natural hair, and Afro‑textured styling. What We Offer Relocation & Accommodation Support First 3 months rent‑free (fully covered) Assistance with relocation logistics FIFO Option First travel (initial flight) covered by us Subcontractor responsible for ongoing FIFO flights Flexible roster options Key Responsibilities Provide high‑quality salon services: braiding (all styles), natural hair care, cuts, colouring, treatments, styling for all hair types Deliver excellent customer service to paying clients Mentor young people in basic hairdressing techniques Maintain salon hygiene, equipment, and professional standards Participate in youth engagement training (provided) Requirements Essential Cert III or higher in Hairdressing OR 3–5 years industry experience Skilled with all hair types including Afro‑textured hair, protective styles & multicultural hair Skilled in braiding with extensions Strong ability to braid confidently (box braids, cornrows, knotless, twists, etc.) Professional, reliable, and confident working independently WWCC (Ochre Card) or ability to obtain ABN (subcontractor requirement) Desirable Experience working with diverse communities Interest in mentoring young people Experience living or working remotely #J-18808-Ljbffr
