Northern Mallee Local Learning and Employment Network – ‘Northern Mallee LLEN’. Project Title School to Work Coordinator. Reports to Executive Officer. Employment Contract duration: 12 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 with a possible contract duration extension. Time fraction: 1.0 EFT (38 hours per week with flexible hours). Salary: outlined in the employment contract inclusive of base salary, superannuation, motor vehicle and phone. Will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. About Northern Mallee Local Learning and Employment Network Inc. (NMLLEN) Northern Mallee LLEN is a not‑for‑profit organisation that works closely with schools, students and industry to identify gaps in education, training and employment, provide advice on local and state‑wide policy issues at both the strategic and operational levels and broker cross‑sector partnerships to better support young people. Funded by the State Government, Northern Mallee LLEN is one of the 31 LLENs across Victoria established in 2001 to improve career pathways for young people. Mission Facilitating strategic partnerships with stakeholder groups to improve outcomes in education, training and employment for young people. Role of the Position The role focuses on school–industry engagement, work‑base learning coordination and strategic leadership to achieve Northern Mallee LLEN objectives. The School to Work Coordinator ensures that the shared goal that work‑based learning is meaningful for secondary students and beneficial for industry is achieved. This requires collaboration with stakeholders, oversight of staff and compliance with Department of Education (DET) strategic direction as outlined under the School to Work Common Funding Agreement and performance framework. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate staff as directed by the Northern Mallee LLEN Workplace Framework. Contribute to the development of Northern Mallee LLEN policies and procedures. Prepare reports for the Executive Officer, Board and Finance and Strategy Sub‑Committee. Prepare reports for DET as detailed by the School to Work Common Funding Agreement and performance framework. Other duties as requested by the Executive Officer. Liaise with key stakeholders to develop, implement and monitor programmes, projects and strategies aligned with Northern Mallee LLEN objectives. Develop and deliver presentations to students, parents, industry, government agencies, peak bodies and community organisations. Contribute to Northern Mallee LLEN publications and platforms. Update, monitor and maintain the DET State‑wide School Employer Engagement Portal with work placements and events; complete event surveys per DET contract requirements. Train staff in line with guides and resources; provide timely updates. Provide professional development about the School to Work Program to Northern Mallee LLEN staff. Collaborate with NMLLEN staff and attend staff meetings to work as a team member. Selection Criteria 1. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and collaborate with industry partners, government, Catholic and independent secondary schools and VET providers to support career education and vocational pathways for young people aged 12–19 years, including identifying regional skill needs and communicating these to stakeholders. 2. Proven experience in planning, implementing and monitoring programmes and projects within agreed timeframes, and meeting compliance requirements under DET contracts. 3. High‑level interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to deliver presentations to diverse audiences and maintain positive professional relationships across stakeholder sectors. 4. Sound understanding of local and regional skills shortages, employer expectations and workforce development trends within the Northern Mallee region. 5. Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, timely reports for boards, committees and funding bodies, and to maintain data integrity in systems such as the DET School Employer Engagement Portal. 6. Ability to work independently while providing oversight and support to team members, contributing to a collaborative and productive team environment. 7. Proficiency in using information technology tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, communication platforms (Zoom, Webex, Teams) and proprietary systems for data management and reporting. Experience A minimum of three years’ experience in business, education, training, career development or a related discipline. Qualification A tertiary, diploma or Certificate IV level qualification in business, education, training or career development with relevant vocational industry experience is required. Entitlements Employee entitlements are outlined in the Fixed Term Contract of Employment. Conditions of Employment A current Australian driver’s licence is required and must be maintained during employment. A national police check is required with updates as instructed by the Executive Officer. Working with children check, employee status is required and must be maintained during employment. Participate annually in the performance appraisal process to establish performance objectives and KPI’s ongoing. Company use of vehicle – adhering to the conditions and requirements of the Motor Vehicles (Use of Company Vehicle) Operating Procedure. Work across multiple worksites as required. The employment probation period will be three months from the commencement date.
